Only time will tell but Wall-E was grossed 127 million in 10 days. I think that it is a safe bet to get to 200 million. The question is will people go see it more than once? Maybe not with all the competition in the movie theaters at this time.

Blade Runner II

I watched the making of Blade Runner DVD. In it they talked about how Tyrell has also a replicate. The scene where Roy would found his persevered body would be after he killed his replicate. While crushing his head he would have discovered that he was a Nexus too. They didn’t shoot the scene because of time and money constraints. My question now is who was not a replicate in the movie?

I just watched the Final cut and there is no doubt that Deckard is a Replicate himself. His eyes glow like the other Nexus, the other cop knows that he dreams of Unicorns and he collects pictures to support his implanted memories. I like this version of the film the best. They cleaned up the images and the sound so the movie looks and sounds great! They did change Roy’s line to Tyrell to be “I want more life Father” instead of “I want more life f**ker”. That was an interesting change. I think that the three best changes where no voice over, the women felling through the glass was the real actress and the background in the dove flying away scene was fixed by cgi. The Final cut of Blade Runner makes me like this movie even more. It has to be one of the top five sci-fi movies of all time!

It is called GeekDad: Japanese Robots. It is about the Maru family and thier robot King Kizer. You could say that the Maru family is the first family of robots in Japan! Lots of cool insights on how they developed a winning robot team.

This company is from Texas. I hope that this is a robot you can buy not a paper roll out.

The robot is from Japan but the software is US. There maybe a true robot built and developed in the US. The robot is call RoboPhilo. It's website says that the robot will be under 500.00 dollars. Lem Fugitt from Robotdreams told me about it. It should be at the iHobby Expo. I think now that I will try to get to Chicago by noon on Saturday. So that I can walk around an checkout all the new robots for sale at the Expo.
Below is the e-mail from Lem Fugitt. RobotDreams
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for the heads-up. I always appreciate it.

Sorry. It's definitely one of the RB robots designed in Japan by
VStone - probably the RB2000 but could be a modified RB1000. They are
also sold by JR (in Japan) and Graupner in Germany/Europe. There's a
good review in the Fall 2007 issue of Robot Magazine.
The 'US' angle seems to be that KumoTek, which is based in Texas, has
ported their software to it. A real weak point of the RB series is the
limited motion creation application which most users find very
difficult to work with. That's coupled with no 'catch & play' type
function like you have on the Robonova and Kondo KHR robots. Hopefully
KumoTek's software will improve the RB user interface. It will be
interesting to see.
As far as I know, the only 'US' humanoid on the horizon is RoboPhilo,
which was designed by RoboBrothers in California. It's a low cost,
entry level product, but has a lot of neat features. Although it has
its limitations, in someways the price/performance is better than the
$1,000+ kits on the market.
I think you plan to be at the Chibots event (and iHobby Expo) in a
couple weeks. Let me know your impressions of RoboPhilo after you get
a chance to see it up close there.
All the best,
Lem

I got Boomer a little over a year ago. I have had a interest in robot for years. I bought the Lego robot years ago. Boomer though is my first hard core step into real robotics. I have no formal robotics training, it has just been a hobby for me.
