Dakota was a great young person. He did not deserve to be bullied and made fun of. That stuff has to quit. One boy took the life of another boy for being different. That is the saddest excuse for hurting someone or killing them. That boy had been teasing Dakota for a long tme. We want justice for what this boy has done to our friend and brother in Christ. Parents need to teach their kids to treat all people with respect.

May God have mercy on Dustin's soul.

Our prayers are with Dakota's family ( Scott ). We love you!

I talk to my kids 3 to 4 times a week about how they are treated and how they treat others.

Children of all ages are so mean, PLEASE talk to your children about this.

God Bless

Trust; you can talk to a kid till your blue in the face. There maybe one who will cross the line and hurt or take a life it is out of your control. If this kid is your child don't beat your head against a wall saying how good he or she was; because the person's family they hurt won't care to hear it. I can tell you this because my brother killed someone.

My heart goes out to the family who has lost a child. However, I am not so quick to judge the other child involved. Many feel the other boy did not bully the victim. Some people tend to add drama to any event, instead of just stating the simple facts. I think it is a very sad event that happened, but until all the facts are in, I refuse to condemn the boy who is still alive.

Cass - I agree with you, children need to learn from a young age to be kind to others.

As stated in another blog, and I'll stand beside this forever and ever Amen...a childs behavior and actions are a reflection of what he/she learns, sees, and hears at home. The term families is not what it used to be or what it should be. Bottom line is a childs actions and behavior starts at home. Time for mom and dad (of any and all children) to stand up and take time for their children and be held accountable for their childrens actions. There are too many kids raising themselves for whatever reasons. Kids need families, not video games, tvs, IPODS, etc. I think you will get the point I'm going for.

when-hutton-talks : I don't know if your statement was directed to me but I can and will tell you that not only would my kids NOT do that , they would have stayed and did what they could have to help Dakota INCLUDING calling 911 and pointed fingers to everyone involed reguardless of the consequenses that would follow them to school.(like others calling them a rat)
I'm telling you right now : Trust doesn't cut it. Talk ,talk, talk, being open , honest and suportive. And above all, someone that they look up to. RESPECT for them selves and others.

Karen : I am sorry if I have hijacked your post .

RIP Dakota....

No Cass816 - I was not talking to you. It is good to talk to your children; but if your child does do the unthinkable. don't beat your head against a wall saying "He or she was not raised like this" It was what they did. I loved my brother but how could we blame the family of the person he killed from being mad and take him down. It was not right for ohters to stand around and let this young man died. this they will have to face thru thier life.

I am a Christian! I am 38 years old. I have been faithfully married to the man I love for 17 years. We have 1 daughter that is 15. My favorite verse is: Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. I love horses and ride every chance I get. I just lost my friend, Bull Bar Bonanza. He was 31 when he died in April of this year. God blessed me with his friendship for 21 years. I use to barrel race on him. I have a big family. I have 3 sisters 1 brother, 1 sister-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 13 nieces and nephews, and twin great nieces. I love them all. God is good!
