How many kids are we going to have to find dead before we enact a law that makes the death penalty mandatory?  I am the grandmother of 3 girls between the ages of 11 and 15. I'm afraid if someone hurt one of my granddaughters, and they were not sentenced to death, I would find a way to do it myself. And to all these bleeding hearts that say death by injection is painful and inhumane!!! Get over it! I think we need to go back to hanging...or any other way that is painful.

I agree, the criminals did not consider the humanity of the person they killed, eye for an eye. If we do not start considering this then our prison's are going to become a joke, a vacation house, not prison. Society will be pushed so far and they will start fighting back form their own "gangs" to kill off the killers, give it more time. Especially if the criminal has life sentences, why should we support him?

Prisons are already a joke. If anything does anyone to my kids, the police better hope they get their first while there's still something left of the scum. Once I get a hold of him, there won't be anything breathing to imprison.

I am all for the death penalty..... I do have one question; Does the death of the killer actually bring true solace to the victims family? Or does it bring momentary satisfaction? Just a question of curiousity. S/P sorry

What about all the people on Death Row that were exonerated by DNA evidence? Do you think the State may have a few to their death in error?

The Death penalty is fine......if they get it right.

It isn't much of a deterrent though. Look at Texas.

Drunk driving deaths. The victim is just as dead. Not much of a penalty though. About 20,000 of them last year alone.

Death Penalty All The Way!!! Innocent people are being killed....the killer should not sit on death row for many, many years while the tax payers pay for his new shoes...meals...and whatever else they get....just give them the needle and get it over with....would save on tax payers money and over crowding in prisons.

Has anyone heard of what happened to the police officer that shot the guy(in the forehead) that was kicking his son to death along a road ? He saved our court system alot of money.

LynDaa, I think that police officer needs an award!
As for drunk drivers...I personally know of a man who killed a young mother while driving drunk. After serving time in prison, being sued for wrongful death, having a period of about 10 years of not drinking, started up again! He even got a couple more DWI's and still can drive. I think our judicial system is totally screwed up as far as drunk driving is concerned. I think the first offense should get a big penalty, like a year in jail. If someone stood in the middle of a crowd swinging a loaded pistol, I'm sure he wouldn't be allowed to cop to a lesser crime, especially if he had done it 4 or 5 times before!

If there is no doubt, kill em quick. Years of costly appeals, is just a way of the state justifying its action. My son was brutally beat for three hours and left for dead by some two car jackers. I showed up at the police station wearing a empty shoulder holster, they got the message, and found them both in four days. They were both sentenced to ninety years without parole. I'm happy. If I'd found them first, then the state would have executed me. Ya don't mess with children, which of course we are all someone's child.

I have lived in both Kansas Cities, having moved to the Kansas side about 15 years ago. I love the diversity of KCK! I'm not real thrilled with the property tax, but thats another show!
