Obama Jul 27, 2008 | 8:27 PM Category: News Report This Post This comment from a US Marine, does not go along with what we saw on national liberal TV Received this from someone who was in Afghanistan when Obama blew in. Hi all FYI--for what freedom is worth. Tiffany and Jeff Porter are our friends who live in Virginia. (Below is from Tiffany) I don't know each of your personal political convictions, and apologize if anyone finds this offensive. I thought it was important enough to share. This is Jeff's first hand view of Senator Obama. Tiffany ---------- Forwarded Message ----------

Hello everyone, As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball.

He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief.

It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

If you saw the fox news you saw were they told Obama COULD NOT see the soldiers he had to get back to the states..

nd if you ask me I rather see Obama win than MacCain any day..

McCain has already said he wants to go to war with Iran he is a another Bush only he is not in bed with the Arabian oil family..

He is smarter than Bush but who isn't but McCain will keep us in war for over 10 years if not longer and takeAmerica deeper in debt..

If this is what you want then vote for him,me I am sick of ou cuntry getting deeper in debt and losing money to other countrys..

IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE AND TIME TO GET THE OLD OUT AND THE YOUNG IN...

obama's campaign said he was told he could not visit the wounded soldiers, which was proven untrue.
obama has made remarks about going to war with iran. does that make him in bed with arab oil?

Okay, I also received this piece of trash in a spam e-mail. Let me point out the flaws.
First, Jeff Porter is in the Utah ANG, not a Marine. There is NO rank of Battle Captain. We would not call anything a "bullet proof" vehicle. It would be a MRAP, up armored HummVee, or Bradley. He did meet with soldiers in Afghanistan, there are photos all over the net to prove it. A Marine does not call his fellow Marines "soldiers". They are Marines!
The base commander in a forward base is NEVER a Major General, Lt. Colonel or Bird Colonel tops.
He violated SOP by signing his name to a political statement. We are not allowed to make statements such as this, even anonomously or to our families. When I first saw this piece of crap I thought it may just be true. I hang my head in shame to even being a tiny bit assocsiated with this supposed "Battle Captain". He more than likely is a supply captain if that.
If you have problems with what I am saying, tough BOOGEDY! Check out snopes.com if you dare for the true story.

Please get the facts strait don't belive everything you read or get in emails..

I am slow and not ashamed of it but I am smart anof not to belive anything unless hear it from the mouth of the one saying it..

You need to watch the news and hear from McCain and Obama them selfs what they say from there own mouths..

Then you should blog about it and say how you feel...

But don't put untruth stuff in your blogs do your homework..TOO MANY CAN PROVE SOMETHING IS NOT TRUE..

I do not like or care for obama eather but will vote for him before I vote another 4 years of Republican and one who has said many times he like to go to war with Iran...

American can not aford that or to let more companys go overseas..Obama will stop companys from going over seas and keep the jobs here in our country..

Obama will do what ever to not go to war with Iran and do what ever to try and get our troops home from iraq..

Obama is young and very healthy McCain is old and not healthy he has had cancer many times and probly will agin..

Obama is not war hungry, McCain is Obama wants to get people off food Stamps and other goverment help and get jobs..McCain does not care for he has realy not said anything about that..

I go on but you can watch the news and read on news web site to see who is for what...

Ahhhhhhh, there you are wrong it was Obama who said he would bomb Pakistan so he will go to war and so far we are not fighting with Pakistan. As for the blog I got it out of Detroit. He also is talking about leaveing ground troops in Iraq, that number of troops is about 30 to 40 thousand so he is not pulling our troops out.

You know, I was going to say that IF it was true that was pretty unbelievable. Obama doesn't seem like that rude of a person unless something happened the public doesn't know about. yeah, the internet is a place people take advantage of to spread untruths.

However, it does bring up a point that really is unrelated but something military should be aware of.

In some of the health books I have read about viruses and bacterial infections, it says that the military is rampant with them.

Although the service of a military officer may be outstanding, while in a foreign country, not knowing what uncontrolled illnesses may be around, I could understand why someone would not want excessive physical contact.

And this is just a small example. While in OUR country I attended a rally for a person who was running for president. I had the opportunity to shake his hand on a day that he was apparently hacking a cough into.

When I returned home, within 2 days, what did i have? A hacking cough from a presidential candidate.

I will always laugh about that, if he ever becomes President, which is not out of the question, I will always be able to say that I caught his illness.......

thanks. and good luck.

30 to 40 thousand would be a reduction of 110,000 to 120,000. Leaving that 30 to 40 thousand so vunerable to attack it is not even funny. 150 thousand is not enough to do the job. And that nutbar thinks 30 thousand can do it? Shove a rifle in Obama's hands and we will hear what he thinks.
No wait, he is a lawyer. He would be dangerous to our own troops with a M-4.

Also he was not told he could not go see the troops he was told he could not take the media, he had to go as a senitor or a private person so he chooses not to go. Real loyal. And if he did go and any one used it against him it would not look good so that excuse is thin.
Next we are already below serge level in Iraq and have been. We have been slowly removing troops from before Obama went to Iraq as the surge he ferfuses to say worked worked.

150,000 is the pre surge level.
It is caliber.
And yeah, he could not use the wounded for a media hype. Typical politician, can't use it don't do it.
What do you call 500 politicians at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start. Sorry william, I know it is lawyers but nowadays they are the same thing!

McCain backs off his no-new-tax pledge By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer
Tue Jul 29, 10:29 AM ET

Republican presidential candidate John McCain's signal that he may be open to a higher payroll tax for Social Security, despite previous vows not to raise taxes of any kind, is drawing sharp rebukes from conservatives.

McCain's shift has come in stages, catching some Republicans by surprise. Speaking with reporters on his campaign bus on July 9, he cited a need to shore up Social Security. "I cannot tell you what I would do, except to put everything on the table," he said.

He went a step farther Sunday on ABC's "This Week," in response to a question about payroll tax increases.

"There is nothing that's off the table. I have my positions, and I'll articulate them. But nothing's off the table," McCain said. "I don't want tax increases. But that doesn't mean that anything is off the table."

That comment drew a strong response this week from the Club for Growth, a Washington anti-tax group. McCain's comments, the group said in a letter to the Arizona senator, are "shocking because you have been adamant in your opposition to raising taxes under any circumstances."

Indeed, McCain frequently has promised not to raise taxes.

At a July 7 town-hall meeting in Denver, he said voters faced a stark choice between him and Democrat Barack Obama.

"Sen. Obama will raise your taxes," McCain said. "I won't."

In a March 16 interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, McCain said he would cut taxes where possible, and not raise them.

"Do you mean none?" Hann

I am a reformed democrat now republican and mother of 5, have 10 grandchildren and one greatgrand child. I have lived all over the US and love to sit on docks and fish. Waiting for the big one. I love my family and a good joke, reading and painting. My siblings all think I need to be taken care of as do my children and I'm the oldest so don't know why. I watch Fox 4 News because you are about the fairest all around on T.V.
