Do you Remember 1987 ? Thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of information......... It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration. There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning! He was being drilled by a senator; 'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?' Ollie replied, 'Yes, I did, Sir.' The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, 'Isn't that just a little excessive?' 'No, sir,' continued Ollie. 'No? And why not?' the senator asked. 'Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.' 'Threatened? By whom?' the senator questioned. 'By a terrorist, sir' Ollie answered. 'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?' 'His name is Osama bin Laden, sir' Ollie replied. At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?' the senator asked. 'Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of', Ollie answered. 'And what do you recommend we do about him?' asked the senator. 'Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.' The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip. < BR> By the way, that senator was Al Gore! Also: Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called 'political prisoners.' However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, 'insisted' that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked us by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center . This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports. If you agree that the American public should be made aware of th is fact, pass this on. Do Not Break - it is 6 years strong This is why I always say I love YOU.... This has not been broken since 9/11/01, please keep it going... This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11. In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

The terrorist was Abu Nadal who lived in Bagdad Iraq, untill a precision guided weapon took him and others out during the start of the Iraq war.
Just one of the many terrorists who lived there under the protection of Saddam.
Just remember though the Libral mantra that Iraq had no connections to terrorism. Yea, Right..umm ok.

Osama was our friend because the common enemy was the Soviets.

Now he's our enemy. This has happened frequently with other groups and countries.

spellcheck is spot on.
Many of our old friends are now our enemies, and many of our old enemies are now our friends.
Kudos to Olie North for recognizing bin Laden for what he was/is. All too often the men on the ground know far more then the decision makers in D.C.

The funny thing is we built the camps in Afghanistan for Osama and his crew as well as trained them so they could fight off their enemies from taking over that country. Years later it was all used against us. (1) Soviet Union was no more which left the USA the only superpower at the time that would prevent them from having their way in the countries of others. As for our elected officials they have not paid any attention to the people they should be for years. We are not the ones lining their pockets and getting them movie deals after they leave office.

it's an odd situation were in today. We are flooded with so much information(most of which is bull) that it seems so overwhelming that we tend not to give it much attention, we know that the next 1/2 hour well be told more bull and not give it any importance either. The only real way of keeping up with it all is to look at history. which we are damned to repeat because we put to much trust in the leaders. Someone smarter than I once said about treaties "Trust, yet verify" or something like that. If the government says it or has a policy about anything, it's a lie with a hidden agenda. This government needs to be completely replaced.

I agree there. I am very disturb by the government of today. I do not like the lies the media tells and as for congress, if they ever get around to actually doing their job it will be a shock.

Funny.

During the 9-11 comissions report to congress one of them made the statement that there is evidence that several foreign governments were involved in the ploting of the attacks.

When he was asked who these governments were his response was............

"I'm sorry sir but that information is classified."

Hmmmmmmmmmm, interesting.

Now that is a good question. I guess it comes from the thought pattern that the less known the better off. Guess the internet isn't in their thought patterns.

Could be. I wouldn't put anything past anyone anymore. I really am getting burned on the way the government is acting.

I am a reformed democrat now republican and mother of 5, have 10 grandchildren and one greatgrand child. I have lived all over the US and love to sit on docks and fish. Waiting for the big one. I love my family and a good joke, reading and painting. My siblings all think I need to be taken care of as do my children and I'm the oldest so don't know why. I watch Fox 4 News because you are about the fairest all around on T.V.
