I don't know what the requirements are for the Metro bus drivers, but one of them certainly is not patience.  Taxi Drivers, Limo Drivers, Crazy People in there Hummer, they are nothing.  Just being any where near the Metro on the road is scary.  I would rather ride next to a semi traveling 70 MPH down I-70.

I realize the little Metro cop guy is riding around in his Tauras making sure you are on time and all that good stuff.  But last time I checked the drivers manual I didn't see any exclusions for bus drivers.

If you're a Metro Bus driver I'm not trying to offend you.  I am sure there are probably some of you that are very good at your job, but you're not on the roads that I travel.

Passing on shoulders, merging out of the parking lanes when the people are on or off the bus, as opposed to when traffic is clear.  Have your kids show you 3 different colors and educate you on which of them mean in the traffic world.  RED, GREEN, YELLOW!

p.s.  If you were riding your bike down Burlington this morning in the bike lane, I bet that bus scared the hell out of you.  The bus driver mis-interpreted the sign that says bike lane.

You have to blame the bus company for that. Many of these drivers are pressured to get to their destinations on time. I am assuming you live downtown because of how you imply that the traffic is bad? Well, I think you have the problem right there. Bad traffic + deadlines = a really big mess.

Oh man, I know what you are talking about. I work downtown and see a lot of buses and am astonished that they don't get in more accidents than they do, especially rear ending people. I am afraid of one day what will happen when their breaks are not working right. They come by here so friggin fast too!!! I am just totally surprised more people have not been hurt in accidents, ran over, etc. by metro buses.

You are so right on!!! The "driver" who moves the #27 bus (I won't call her behavior driving!) near Truman Medical expects YOU to back your car up out of her way when she's turning, JUST BECAUSE SHE TOOK THE TURN TOO SHARPLY!!! She'll blast her horn and stop and create traffice jams until other drivers move.

I called to complain as a pedestrian witness, and you would have thought I was speaking greek to the operator. When I asked for a supervisor, I mysteriously got disconnected - not once but three times!!!

During the spring and summer I've always got the scanner going along with my video camera and digital camera ready to go chasing storms looking for the next great photo oppurtunity.
