With baseball's trade deadline less than 48 hours away, the Royals' Jose Guillen is making it known, he wants out of Kansas City.

The Royals are in Oakland for a three game set against the A's, and Guillen doesn't want to come back.

In a report on ESPN Deportes, Guillen is quoted as saying he is "living in hell in Kansas City."

An anonymous source says Guillen and manager Trey Hillman aren't talking to each other, and Guillen will do anything he can to ease his way out of Kansas City including eating some of his $12 million per year contract.

The source says Guillen feels like the Royals haven't kept their promise to build a winning team.

Guillen hasn't been completely healthy all year, yet he leads the club in home runs and RBI's.

I know the Royals are one of the worst teams in baseball but I say grant his wish and send this overpaid, can't run, locker room cancer to an even worse team and get what we can.The Royals are a young team that if they keep trying may make the playoffs in 2=3 years and they don't need this guy in the locker room and the fans who pay their hard earned money to watch and support this team sure don't need him or his attitude.

I have a better idea.
The guy signed a contract and needs to honor that. Now, if we can just get the Star and local TV station from giving him any air/print time he becomes a non-issue.
He is an attention brat, and the media satisfies his needs. Too bad the media allows itself to be prostituted.
Come on people. After the Royals, this guy is doing everything he can to diminish his future pay check - let it roll.

Yeah, make him stay, part of the draw of having one of the worst teams in baseball is hearing the multi-millionaire's whine about it.

This way they can almost connect with the average worker whining about everyday stuff, gas prices, food prices, foreclosures, and health care payment plan.

Except the average worker's connection to baseball may be the son's or daughter's league.

Sports figures are role models for young people?

I think that quit about 20 years before Tyson bit Holyfield's ear off.

Well, it can't be paradise being on a team that considers it a "success" not to lose 100 games.

Jermaine Dye, Carlos Beltran, Johnny Damon, and a few others might tell you this is just a feeder club.

mpvan, I have to agree with you! If I had a Royals uniform on, I would be pi$$ed off too. This guy wants to be on a winning team, can't blame him there. For him, it's not about the money. He wants to win and he WILL NOT see it here. They keep saying they are rebuilding, yeah right! They had one winning season in the last 14 years. The fans always have to make up excuses all the time for their losses. Should-of, could-of, and would-of. Just think, if Guillen wasn't here their would be a higher number in the L column. He has the most RBI and HR's. This team has won many games for his contribution. Everyone is mad, because he wants to be on a winning team. What's up with that????

Over the hill and going up the next one,and after reading many of the politically motivated blogs here I just want to say,an airplane can't fly with just one wing whether it be right wing or a left wing it will just fly in circles like a dog chasing its tail.
