As far as a place to go, you could always go to the local emergency room, but BE CAREFUL driving. If you are concerned about the infant getting too cold (normal body temp for an infant is 97.7-99.7) then call an ambulance. Babies can get too cold very quickly, so watch closely. If you are going to try and stay in your house overnight, then don't open any outside doors unless absolutely necessary to keep the heat it. Also cover all of the windows with curtains or blankets to help reduce draft. You could also try taping the outside door seams with masking tape or duct tape to decrease heat loss. Finally, if it does start to cool off, move to a small inside room, like a bathroom and huddle together under blankets to try and keep warm. If you have a generator DO NOT RUN IT IN THE HOUSE OR GARAGE!!!! MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS AMPLE VENTILATION!!!! Ample ventilation means that there is plenty of outside air reaching the generator and exhaust fumes cannot accumulate. Many people die every year from suffocating on exhaust fumes when using generators in poorly ventilated areas.
